The Hamilton – Burlington SPCA (HBSPCA) is a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. Their mandate includes animal protection, advocacy, adoption and education. They operate a no-kill shelter and offer a wide range of services. They are not a government organization and rely on public donations, legacies and fundraising campaigns to raise money to run their shelter and programs.
For 23 years the HBSPCA has run an event called the Wiggle Waggle Walk-a-Thon, it has been successful in its time but this year they were looking to start fresh with a new event to draw in new participants. They came up with the idea for the Wiggle Waggle Walk and Splash which would be hosted by Wild Water Works. They came to us to help with the materials needed to market this event and get the word out. They requested an event logo, promotional materials, media support and online support.
We worked closely with the HBSPCA for five months through FootPRINT Fund to bring their dream to reality with this event. We created an event logo and designed brochures and posters for them. We also helped write media releases and provided valuable ideas for the event. We also helped promote their event through our networks on social media. Their goal was to bring in $75,000 in donations for this event. On the day of we were there to take pictures and live tweet the event to our followers.
The event was a great success bringing in $75,632 in donations.
Krista from the HBSPCA had this to say about our experience working with them,
“I worked with Allegra for 5 months on the Wiggle Waggle event and they provided excellent marketing and promotion advice and ideas. Working closely with both Gasper and Aryn was a great experience- they are knowledgeable, friendly and quick to turnaround content and proofs. The event was a great success and with their help we surpassed our fundraising goal of $75,000. I would highly recommend Allegra to anyone looking for assistance with marketing, promotion, printing and creative.”
